Cathal Mercer is an actor fron Portadown, Northern Ireland.
Cathal has been performing from a young age, starting in school productions before joining his local amateur theatre group, Portadown Phoenix Players. It was here where he performed in productions such as Grease, Oklahoma and West Side Story.
After graduating in Drama with Advertising from Ulster University, Cathal started performing with the Shelley Lowry School of Speech and Drama. During this time, he appeared in the productions ’89’, ‘Free Your Soul’ and ‘Above All Else’.
In Film and Television, Cathal appeared in the Department of Education’s ‘Try and Stop Me’ advertising campaign. As well as this, Cathal also appeared in the short film ‘Evidence’ and the upcoming feature film ‘Haunted Ulster Live.’
Cathal has just wrapped on the Irish language movie ‘Kneecap’, directed by Rich Pepiatt and starring the rap trio Kneecap and Michael Fassbender.
